Leda and the Swan

Leda and the Swan
Zeus: Leda and the Swan
My dandy absurdity not only gave
access to the girl, but fascinated everyone.
Yeats with his politics, Spenser, Michelangelo
were all interested in the same thing.
Call it a problem: How would it work,
a girl with a swan? You have to realize
there are many things you never hear about,
that goddesses get boring. Or even mortals.
For example, I might have changed her to a swan.
Of course I could simply have swum to her,
My muscles gleaming…but straight sex has gotten dull.
There’s nothing for me in that anymore.
I’ve taken the forms of most animals you could think of.
I am a source of what you call perversion.
They wait for me to come back, and they must do something.
It’s made my world a lot more interesting.
You’ve never been with one of these?
I’m your god. Relax.
